Leeón PROJECT
Leeón is an educational application focused on motivating children aged 6 to 12 to read and improve their reading comprehension through a gamified system in which playtime is earned in exchange for reading.

The app
Through an interface designed for families and educational settings, Leeón enables the temporary blocking of children’s favorite apps and games until they have read a chapter of a book and correctly answered a series of questions that verify what they have read. This approach seeks to balance screen time with valuable and meaningful reading habits, fostering both regular reading and deep comprehension of content.
Parental Control and Gamification
Leeón incorporates features that make it a practical tool for both parents and educators. Parents can select the apps and games they want to block and set gameplay time limits that are unlocked only when the child correctly answers questions related to the completed reading. The app supports a database of more than 1,000 book titles.

Added value
Beyond home use, Leeón is also positioned as a valuable resource for the school environment, allowing teachers to monitor students’ reading progress and obtain relevant metrics on reading speed and comprehension levels. This facilitates educational assessment by providing objective data that can be used to measure reading proficiency without significantly increasing teachers’ workload. Leeón’s approach combines elements of parental control, gamified motivation, and reading assessment.
CMS
The Leeón Panel CMS is a digital solution developed to improve and monitor reading comprehension among primary school students. It is an intuitive and versatile web-based platform that enables schools and teachers to manage reading activities, assign content, and analyze student progress in real time through clear dashboards and dedicated metrics.
The Leeón app integrates directly with the panel, creating a connected ecosystem that automatically synchronizes data and allows teachers to track both reading activity and comprehension test results, whether at home or in the classroom.
From a technical perspective, a QR code–based linking system was implemented to quickly and securely connect student accounts to the Panel CMS, ensuring real-time data flow. As a core part of the project, gamification features—including rewards and top reader rankings—were added to boost motivation and encourage consistent reading habits.
